A Guide to Package Holidays
The definition of a ‘package’ holiday is where there are at least two elements booked at the same time. The two main ingredients are travel, by air, rail, ferry and accommodation, hotel, villa or apartment.
With the rise of the internet the world has somehow got a little smaller. You can now pop off for a weekend overseas as easily as you can drive to the countryside in the UK.
In most circumstances if you ‘self package’ there is always a risk of one or more elements of your holiday that may let you down. In this instance if you are not booked through a Travel Agent who offers full financial protection through the ATOL scheme then you could be liable to lose any monies paid.
Package holidays come on all shapes and sizes, from a weekend away to a full blown 14 day break. You may wish to relax and totally remove yourself from your every day life, or experience a more active break with sports included or maybe a safari.
Booking a package holiday gives you the certainty that there will always be someone there to look after you should you ever need it.
